A Brief Guide to Wooroloo Cemetery
MUNDARING & HILLS HISTORICAL SOCIETY and THE CWA WOOROLOO BRANCH.
Wooroloo Sanatorium was established in 1915. Patients suffering from pulmonary diseases were treated there and until the 1940s with the discovery of antibiotic Streptomycin, their mortality was high, consequently the cemetery contains the remains of many of these people. One third of the graves are those of past residents. The Mundaring and Hills Historical Society and the Country Women’s Association Wooroloo Branch conducted research and complied this essential booklet for those wishing to search for the graves of family members and friends at Wooroloo cemetery.
