Prince William and Kate Middleton

On April 29, 2011, Great Britain’s Prince William marries his longtime girlfriend Catherine Elizabeth “Kate” Middleton at Westminster Abbey in London. Some 1,900 guests attended the ceremony, while another 1 million spectators lined the streets of London and an estimated 2 billion people around the world watched on television.

Although we havent had what you would call 'famous' weddings, MHHS has a great archive of local weddings. The picture below shows Mundaring Stationmaster Frank Roberts marry Alice in 1910.

Lillian Byfield married Reece Ball in 1925

Frederick Jacoby married Agnes Wilson in 1897

Sussana Lauffer and Guiseppe Lori in 1906

Sussana's father Charles was tragically murdered in an episode with picknickers at their vineyard at Smith's Mill in 1903.

These lovely photographs and many more are in the MHHS archive collection.

Do you have any local images that you would like to donate? We would love to see them
