International Museum Day

Held on the 18th May each year, International Museum Day shines a light on the rich cultural position of museums worldwide. Each year there has a theme and this year it is Museums for Education and Research. The Australian Museums and Gallery Association (AMaGA) is inviting stakeholders the consider how they enact and value research. To collaborate and reflect on how these perspectives might inspire a reconfiguration of the purpose of research.

The initiative is led by AMaGA in collaboration with the Australian National University, Monash University and a range of other stakeholders across the museum and university sectors.

Mundaring and Hills Historical Society would love to hear from readers to let us know how research has helped them go forward with family history, publications or work projects.
